Port of Brisbane
Brisbane — 2024
The Port of Brisbane undertook a major structural remediation project to address failing steel columns within one of its critical port buildings. Allied Commercial proposed and executed high-spec concrete fibre repairs involving a detailed engineering process including thorough assessment, analysis, and design by structural engineers. The specialised concrete mix contained high-strength fibres providing enhanced tensile strength and resistance to cracking, essential for the harsh marine environment where the facility is exposed to heavy loads, salt spray, and extreme weather conditions on a daily basis. The repair methodology was specifically designed to restore the columns to their original load-bearing capacity while providing long-term durability in the aggressive port environment.
